Going to have to do one last overhaul of the existing chapters of Mystic Nation. I've decided to switch the gender of one of the periphery characters, and the addition of a new plot point that that pesky 13th chapter has caused me to need to rework a few later happenings as well. Most surprising is . . . (

It's finally finished. It's not good. Or edited. But it's finished.
Now, to reread all 27 chapters (again) to make sure I have the plot straightened out so that the ending will make sense. Which is going to involve reworking my outline for the final few chapters.
But the en . . . (

Due to the wonkiness of my Internet connection over the past 48 hours, I have managed to be productive.
Which is to say the "To Edit" file of Mystic Nation is now empty. The edited draft currently stands at twenty-six chapters 104,730 words. All that remains is to write seven-and-a-half chapt . . . (

I've come to realize that in doing the massive plot-tightening edit of Mystic Nation, I have marked up the old draft so substantially that while fixing the bigger picture, I have completely massacred the smaller one. Which is to say I now have a cohesive plot that sticks together for the whole of th . . . (

I just came to the conclusion that I am going to have to go back to the beginning of Mystic Nation and re-edit it from the beginning to take out a superfluous plotline that has absolutely no bearing on the rest of the story. Doing so will cut about 50 pages of the narrative and three or four chapter . . . (

My little 3-page throwaway chapter meant only to indicate a passage of time has now ballooned into a 10-page narrative that is actually proving relative to the plot. I am still several pages from the conclusion and feeling more than a little pleased with myself. After struggling with creating a . . . (

For the first time in four years, I have added real, honest-to-God, plot-progressing words to my short sotry, Relic.
634 of them, to be exact.
Not overwhelming in the overall scheme of things, admittedly. But, in terms of a project that has been stalled for so long, the development is someth . . . (

Chapters one - eleven are now fully edited, despite my getting sidetracked by a few too many ideas for new projects. I am determined not to allow myself to work on anything new until I can sort through the majority of Mystic Nation's edits. I've gotten 100 of the 266 pages completely reworked and re . . . (

Here's a breakdown on how the editing of Jinx is going. Needless to say, there have been some major shakeups in the way the story's progressing. Those notes I'm taking are definitely coming in handy as I try to sort out the mess I've made of the timeline.
Prologue: Hand-corrected and edited.

The first four chapters have been edited by hand. The Red Pen of Death has done its job well and butchered the pages for the sake of Consistency and Flow and Cutting Unnecessary Bullshit. Changfes to the first two chapters have been entered into the computer on what's more or less going . . . (
